Project Description

Borehole infiltration testing is a method frequently used in urban environments or areas where excavation of test pits for the performance of larger diameter infiltration tests is not feasible due to ground cover (pavement or sidewalk) and the presence of utilities. Borehole testing is also used for infiltration testing at deeper depths that would otherwise require a large benched excavation for safe entry.

Borehole infiltration tests can be performed in a cased borehole or in an open borehole without casing. This method can be performed as a falling head test or a constant head test.
